Dead in October
The days drift behind her
like the summer breeze
in that time not so long ago
when not even the sun
could brighten up those days
where darkness closes in
around what she remembers
of the smile worn on his face
as his eyes drew in
every inch of her skin
layed down for when his needs were to be met
in exchange for him.
That time stays still
in those summer months
where her innocence
lyes, stripped away like the leaves
later that fall.
though life moved on
she can never forget
the one who gave nothing
but took it all.
Back and Forth
